The Details

How it works

Using photos of women survivors of war, artists are asked to reference the photos to inspire their art. Representational works are preferred; however, other works will be considered. Invited artists receive a CD containing photographs of women survivors of war from the various regions supported by Women for Women International. The artist then chooses a photograph that inspires them to create a new piece of art for this project.

All accepted works will be promoted on this website. Detailed information regarding the work and the artist will be listed, including a link to the artist's website.

Artists agree to donate 50% of their proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Women for Women International.

The committee and Women for Women International will promote and advertise the artwork and the project in various media and by other methods possible.

In addition to the art being available for sale on the website, the artists may show, display and sell their work in any method they choose. The agreement to donate 50% of their proceeds to Women for Women International still applies.
